The ceiling light in my son's room hums. It is an incandescent bulb and it is NOT on a dimmer. Any advice as to what might be causing this and how to fix it?

Sometimes the filament vibrates making a noise. Try changing to a different brand of light bulb or use a rough service bulb. They have heavier duty filaments.

I will agree with Toyln just very simple get diffrent namebrand bulbs that useally take care the issue.

Just make sure you do not exceed the maxuim wattage rating of the luminaire.
