I have a 5 year old kenmore front loading washer that no longer spins very fast. The clothes are more moist where they used to be pretty dry out of the spin cycle, Any ideas on what my problem could be?? The water drains ok

You might have bad basket bearings. If you have an amprobe, you can verify it by measuring the washer current during high speed spin. Should be less than about 3 amps.If you run it too long, you might burn out the motor and/or the motor pc board.
Sometimes you can feal the bearings going dry by turning the spin basket by hand.

Couple of other things to look for, Are you using HE soap? A small load will not spin out as much water. Belt could be slipping only seen this once. Is the drum spinning at all? belt could be off. If the bearing are bad you will hear a roaring sound in spin or if real bad the drum move in the tub when you shake it by hand.
