Home Automation - Rewiring setup question.

This could have gone under a multitude of places but here it goes.
I am going to be doing some adding of wires into rooms of a house. What wires do you usually run? I will be running cat5e, phone-cat5e, cable-coax to some,hdmi to some, component to some. What else would you add? Am I missing anything for the future?

Sounds like a good plan. Consider using flexible conduit a.k.a. "Smurf Tube" so you can pull additional lines in the future.

Cat3 is fine for telephone, although the cost savings isn't as much as it used to be. I'm starting to see more and more Cat6 in anticipation of the higher-speed networks.

Also, HDMI cables have a length limit that you need to observe if you want them to work at the higher definitions like 1080p. Best to keep them as short as possible.

The hdmi will be only 25 ft runs. If on any which at this time no, that I need longer I have used 35ft with no problem. I will make sure I get conduit. Thanks.
Cat6 for telephone? Is that what you meant or for the cat5e?

Yeah, I can see now that that line was confusing. Cat3 = telephone, Cat6 instead of 5e for data. Sorry about that.

Couple of other ideas:
In-wall rated speaker wires - for home theater.
Alarm system pre-wire - doors, windows, keypad locations, etc.
