I have a Vista 20p as my panel and am trying to install a 6270 LCD keypad. The keypad will not power up. Do I need to have an additional power supply for this keypad? The only other keypads in the system is (1) 6150RF and (1) 6150

I tried disconnecting both 6150's and just connected the 6270, but the 6270 would not boot/would not show anything on the screen - just some scratchy sounds from the speaker

Thoughts? do I have a bad 6270??

Thanks all!

P.S. New to the boards... looking forward to all the friendly advice you all can give!

I bought a Vista20p, a handfull of zone extenders, (1) 6150, (1) 6150RF and (1) non working 6270.

Will I be able to reset the panel to the factory defaults with the 6150's?

Will I be able to program the entire panel using one of the 6150's? or will it be a lesson in futility with the small display on these guys? I had hope to program using the 6270 but it won't seem to power on.

Thanks!

Michael

The 6150 keypads will not access the menu mode programming areas like zone programming (*56), but will access the rest of the programming locations. The 6270 can be put into a mode that emulates a 6160 keypad, but is annoyingly slow.

You have to use the 6150 keypad to activate the address for the touchscreen in programming location *189. If the touchscreen isn't powering up at all, you need to check your wiring.

Yes, there is a default command that can be keyed from the 6150 keypads *97 resets the system programming back to factory default.
