I purchased a replacement shower handle / head and faucet. I was able to install the handle and shower head, but when I took the old faucet off, found a pipe with threads on the end. The replacement faucet does't seem to have threads that will allow it to screw on the existing pipe that comes out of the shower. Any help?

You probably bought a slip-fit spout that slides over copper tubing and pinches down on it when you tighten the allen set screw. An o-ring keeps it from leaking. You need either the universal spout that works for threaded or slip-on, or a conventional spout with threads. But, I suppose you got it figured out by now.
