There is a "lever" that allows the seat to be lowered or raised.
Problem - seat position can no longer be held. Trying to position the seat higher no longer works - seat drops.
Can this be fixed???

Welcome to the forums!

I don't know if it can be fixed but it can be 'rigged':D

What I did on a chair I used to have was to cut a piece of pvc [1.5"?] and slip it over the tube. This prevented the chair to sink past a certain point - lenght of pvc pipe.
