Hi,

I have a two-story family room and the wall of windows measures 15'Hx16'w. I am looking for tab or grommet top panels that go from cealing to floor, so a length of 204". I have gotten custom quotes but thay are all in the $5k range.

Any suggestions on where to get them for a more reasonable price? Made-to-order or otherwise? Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome to the forum! That's a lot of fabric to work with and you have no idea of the time and work involved in making these, which is why it seems pricey.
What is your idea of reasonable?
Readymades do not come in this length and I would have no idea where to buy them cheap. Perhaps find a suzy homemaker (altho remember, you get what you pay for) or consider taking up sewing! :D
Good luck!

Ouch! Looks like you have a real challenge on your hands, shadeladie!! Hope someone can help you, but it won't be me! I don't envy you!

My problem is minor compared to yours. I'm trying to hang sheer scarves over 4 windows. No matter what I do, I can't get the swaggie part of the scarves and the lengths symmetrical!!!

To make this even more 'trying', I'm having to get on the scaffolding to place the scarves . .then get down and back off to check them out. I've been fiddling with these things ALL day long. :wall:

Does anyone have any secret tips on how to get these things symmetrical?????

Hi and welcome to the forum! It wasn't me that asked the question. :D
Yes, those scarfs are difficult. Check out this webpage for folding and hanging them.
Scarf Swag (http://www.alternative-windows.com/scarf-valance.htm)
You can use rubber bands or pin, then sew the pleats in once you get them right.
No secret except to keep playing with it till it's right.

Ooops!!!! My apology to Androcy! I went back and re-read the post!

But thank you, shadeladie for your response. I checked the website you referenced .. :wall: and it did help.

I guess what I'll have to do is take them down and mark/tie them as the instructions recommend - then rehang. I really thought about doing this initially, but also thought I could 'wrap' them on the rod and get a good effect.

Oh, well, I guess there's just not an easy way to do things anymore, huh??? :)

Thanks for the link!!!
