We had a Honeywell Humidifier Steamer unit connected to our gas furnace. They also put in a programmable Honeywell thermostat, which records and sets the humidity level, etc.
They said to keep the humidity level at 45% for our winter and area in the SE.
It is not maintaining that, per the reading on the thermostat. Sometimes it is in the 20's, sometimes 30's.
We have put two other battery operated thermostats by the wall thermostat, and both of them are registering a lot higher humidity, almost or at 45%, but they drop into the 30's some too..
Can we callibrate the thermostat to make sure it is reading the humidity level right? If so, how?
Also, Should we be concerned that this $2000 device is not maintaining the 45% as we were led to believe it would do?

Forty five per cent sounds awfully high. In any case I suggest you contact your installer with your concerns. For $2K, I'd want some satisfaction.
