I am re-caulking the shower door of my bathtub/shower as a temporary (3-5 yr) way to buy time with this bathtub while I have a secondary bathroom made. I intend on demolishing this bathroom once the other bathroom is operational and I have saved up enough money for it.
I did this a couple years ago and the bottom track has taken quite a beating and is slightly bent in the middle and along some of the rails from the 50-60 years of service.
I am looking for a replacement for the track guide at the bottom but do not know where to look. I have tried some custom door / bathtub manufacturers and searching the web but my keywords are either out-dated or what I want just doesn't exist.
The track has 2 channels, each 3/4" wide and 1/2" deep. Its 58.5" long and is 1-5/8" wide counting both tracks and their "walls". It appears to be either made from or coated with aluminum. If you put it on its side it looks like the letter E.
I am guessing there must be some company or online place that would sell some universal or at least generic track for some of tub/showers out there but I am not having luck finding any.
If anyone has keyword ideas or suggestions for places I might have luck I would appreciate it. Thanks.
