I have a Byrant heat pump fan that makes intermintant noise. The attacht sticker states that every 5 years bearing needs lubication with 5-20 non-detergent oil. I would like to do this first. Where do I lubicate the bearing?

Thanks!

Normally there are caps or plugs at each end of the motor..above where the bearings would be. Some can just be lifted and a few drops put in..others need to be pried out, oil put in and then tapped back into place.

I've seen motors (not for HP systems) that just had holes that you dropped it in.

I see a metal cap that is the size of a half-dollar over the end of the combination blowermotor/fan. It appears to be pressed on. I suspect this is it

Thank you!

no...no....the oil caps are maybe a 1/4 " in diameter...they are normally pressed into a cast-in channel in the body of the motor. They are perpendicular to the shaft.

Which fan motor is this..the outside unit..or the air handler? Many outside units are sealed and require no lube.
