Hi all, I am a newbie here. I have done alot of reading here and thought that I found my answers but then I read some more and now I'm confused. My question is how do I hook this humidifier to my furnace? I have the 2 black wires on my humidistat and the 2 yellow on my Humidifier. There is also 2 red, not sure if I need them. Anyway I have the 2 yellow wires and the 2 black wires hooked together right now and the Humidifier is pluged into the outlet. Now it works but it just stays running(It shuts off when I turn the dial below 35 setting on the humidistat). I want it to come on when my blower motor comes on my furnace. I had a Aprilaire 700 and I had that hooked to my w1 and my common to the humidistat and then from there straight to my humidifier. This 1 is different and I need help. I have included some pics of my Goodman board and humidifier.
Any help would be great. TIA

You will need to change the outlet.
On your board there is a 120v HUM-H, and HUM-N terminal.
You mount a box with a single outlet on the side of the furnace.
Then you wire the outlet to the HUMs, and then put the humidifier into that itself.
Just leave the two yellow wires to the two black wire on the humidistat.

you also may be able to buy a relay from aprilair . It senses current and you can wire it between your humidistat and it clamps over a motor lead and senses when the motor is on . the part no is rp50 (low voltage ) rp51 (line voltage)
good luck

Relay could be used, but I've heard mixed results on variable speed blower motor, since they are a very low Amp draw vs the standard PSC motor.
Hard wire to the board is one less thing to go wrong.

i agree with you that hooking up to the board is best , just an option in case he was not comfortable doing the hard wiring.
thanks

Looks like you are new here? Are you in the HVAC Field? If so, have you had results using the CS relay on variable speed motors?

Welcome aboard Jalamia.
I used to be in the field in the early 90's, and haven't been in it since. Other than the basic stuff for family, or taking care of the stufff at the Grocery store where I used to work at.
