I bought a used Caloric gas range that was set up for LP gas. I need to convert it to Narural Gas. I have the manuals for the range, but I am confused. On the Pressure regulator I flipped the cap from LP to Natural gas and screwed it back on. Next the book says "Remove the two screws fastening the broiler burner to the oven tank at front of burner. Remove the burner by pulling front and down to expose the burner orifice spud in the rear wall. Be careful not to break the ignitor coil. Lay the burner aside carefuly with the screen side up. Replace the burner orifice spud using a 5/16 nut driver. Reverse the procedure to reinstall the burner.

The book says The burner orifice must be change to convert from natural gas to lp. It says this spud is found under the plate in the center of the burner box. I removed the plate and found the spud. But I can not find out where it goes in the oven???
Under the oven burner is a brass fitting that is removed with a 1/2 ince wrench. I removed it and it says .50 on the side of it and under it was a triangle looking piece about 1/2 inch long. I can't find anything that looks like the spud orifice?
Do you have any ideas? This would have been a lot simplier if the book showed a drawing of where the spud goes.
Also, is this the only spud (orifice) I have to change to convert the Caloric stove from LP back to Natural Gas.
Sorry so long, but I have been trying to figure this out for about a week with no luck.
Any help you guys can give me on converitng from LP to Natural gas would be a big help. I am not sure exactly what all needs to be changed.:wall:
Thank you,

Hello 68rs327 and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and to the Gas Appliances topic.

Kindly excuse the long delay waiting for a reply....:wall:.....:o

The orifice (spud) is screwed onto the burners gas control valve. A hex head brass or bronze nut with a cap (spud) end sticking up wards. Remove the existing orifice (spud nut) and install the Natural gas orifice. (Spud)

Once that is completed, an adjustment is likely to be required but not in all instances (Cases). To obtain more instructions and details, read the sticky note HERE (http://forum.doityourself.com/showthread.php?t=159808)

Cautionary Reminder Note:
Before attempting any repairs, be sure to unplug the appliance from the wall receptacle power source first.
