I had new kithcen countertops put in and just finished my tile backsplash last week. All of a sudden I want to add undercabinet lighting to spice up my counters and thought to myself, why the hell did I not do this while the backsplash wall was exposed to only drywall. Now I am in kind of a bind cause hard wiring the cabinet lighting would have been the best way to go. Anyway, what kind of alternatives do I have and which would be the best quality as far as lighting should I get? Thanks in advance

I didn't want to bother with hardwiring so I looked to Ikea. They have a couple of really nice systems for under-cabinet where you can hook them up in series, choosing whether you want 2 or 3 bulbs per strip, you can also add in an outlet which was great for me as I didn't have one near the stove where I like to blend my soups and stuff. Anyway - there's corner pieces and switches and it's pretty easy to figure out. You just need to be clever in hiding the wire. I fastened all the wiring to the underside of the existing cabinet boxes and then mounted the light strips to a large piece of finish-plywood and screwed the whole thing up there, concealing the wiring. Then the whole system plugs into an outlet and you can use the one behind your fridge or stove - whatever is best for your setup. Good luck!
