Is is normal for a bulb to burn out all the way through the threads of the base? This is the condition I found a candelabra bulb in when it was removed from my outdoor fixture. There are three sockets on this fixture, and each lamp burned out within a few weeks time, and this was the last one to go. They had all functioned fine for over year and were already installed when I bought my house, and I have verified they were under the recommended wattage and were name brand (GE). Is there something wrong with the socket? Can I just use the other two sockets, or is the fixture not functioning correctly?
