Hi Folks,
Just wondering if someone can assist me hardwiring a 7th zone motion detector to a PC1616. My understanding is that the PC1616 has only 6 zones. I have two keypads, one in my master bedroom and another by my enterance door.
I do not quite understand partitioning. Can some provide me a step sequence on what to enter into both keypads in order to activiate a 7th zone? :coffee:

I appreciate your advice in this forum
I have a DSC PC1616 with 2 keypads and here is what i want to do.
1. Add a 2 Wire Fire Detector
a) *8(installer code)
b) 009
c) 19
d) 04
Exit
I do not need to enter a zone as a 2 wire detector does not go on any zones. If it triggers, it will light up the fire symbol on the keypad.
Q. If the fire alarm is activated, will the siren ring the same as when it is activated for a burgular alarm? If so, can you change it to sound different? how?
2. Activate FIRE panic button:
a)*8(installer code)
b) 015 (make sure 1 is on)
C) exit
d) *074 make sure 1 is on
3. Install a motion detector on zone 7? No clue the sequence here as i am lost on the partitioning.
Again you are the master of alarms and appreciate your assistance...

I think you are having an "apples and oranges" moment, here.
Partitioning has nothing to do with what you are trying to do. I think that what you are after is trying to use the keypad zone input.
The siren automatically generates a different pattern in fire alarm mode by default.

Yes that's it....however my understanding is that the PC1616 has only 6 zones...which are currently in use. My trouble is trying to wire a seventh zone...would i wire a seventh zone same as if i was wiring in a new zone in the 1-6 area?

No, without adding a zone expander, you would have to use the "Z" terminal on one of your keypads. It's not hard to do, but is is hard to describe, and it's much more complicated by the fact that you want to connect a motion detector. It _can_ be done, but I get the feeling that your technical skills may be at a stage where this would turn into an endless game of "20 questions".
Is there any way to connect something simple, like one of your doors to the keypad input, and use one of the panel hardwire inputs for the motion? I don't know what stage of the installation you are actually in.
