I'm in the design phase of my bathroom remodel in my masterbath and I only have room for a 36" vanity. The current vanity is about 10 years old and needs to be updated. I'd like to add two faucets, his and hers, but two sinks won't fit. I've searched all over the internet and can't find a solution to this problem so I thought I'd ask the experts.

I thought about a trough type sink but could only find kitchen trough sinks.

Welcome to the forums! You really won't be able to get two sinks in a 36" wide vanity, as you have found out. Now, measure your rear end and see if it is wider than 18". If so, no more than one person at a time can get to the vanity at a time, so having two sinks would be a moot point. You also will need an LZ for hair dryers, curlers, make up, etc. so you will use up the space on either side of your sink anyway. I would also opt for a taller vanity than what is normally being sold. Those 32" high vanities will be a pain in your back after a while. I like to see higher vanities for adult convenience. You can always get kids a steppy stool until they get tall enough to use it without.

You make a very logical and valid point about the 18" rear, simply put two people can't share a 36" vanity, even with a trough sink.

That said what the smallest two sink vanity available? From what I've seen online 44" seems like the minimum for a two sink vanity. Looks like I need to find an extra 8" somewhere.
