I have a round drop-in floor safe and I have lost the key. The safe is very old and secure, and I used a cylinder type key. I hid the key but now I cant remember where I hid it. In other words, I lost the key. The local locksmith here say he would not be able to open it. So who should I call? or where could I get a new key? HELP:eek:

When you say "cylinder type key", are you indicating it is similar to a house key? If so, then the lock can be impressioned quite easily.
Even if it is a bit type (mortise) key, like a tube with a flag on it and the flag has cuts in it (like an antique cupboard lock), it can still be impressioned.
What city are you in?
Someone might be able to send you a private message with a safeman recommendation.
If the front of the keyhole has a number on it, usually this indicates the particular code for the key.

If you're in San Diego, there will be several locksmiths that specialize in safes...(not all do). Call around some more. Unless this is a very unusual safe head, most safe technicians know how to deal with the typical brass lever (key) lock without damaging the safe head. A service charge, an hour's labor and a replacement key lock fitted to the head is usually what's involved. ( But first, look for the key some more...!)
