The cold water faucet on my roman tub stopped working. The hot water works fine as do all other faucets in the house. I replaced the stem valve but still did not work. I even turned the main water line back on without the stem valve in and still nothing came out of cold water side. I turned the hot water on while cold water stem valve was out and then water came shooting out of cold water side. Any ideas what is wrong? I am at a loss. Thanks for any help.

Thanks Pulpo but no. I live in South Florida so it can't be a frozen pipe.

Lucky you, living in South Florida. If it's not ice there has to be another obstruction. Is it a second floor bathroom? What else is on that line? Are there separtate valves for that bathroom?

I ran into one once that had a brass fitting to connected to a galvanized pipe. The chemical reaction caused it to clog.

as stated earlier something is plugging the line. sometimes blowing air/water into the line after turning the water off will free up the obstruction and allow the water to work again. what it is and where it is is impossible to say without seeing your plumbing and how it is ran
