Doing basement bathroom. The shower, toilet and sink are stubbed out. i filled the rough-in trenches with patching cement. The concrete slab is not level. should i use a leveling compound to get it level? do i need to apply a primer first?

I plan on finishing with ceramic, and may put down electric radiant heat before the tile.
