I have a system that was installed by Safeguard 10 years ago. We just had a new entrance door and rear door installed. The system will not arm because it shows those zones open instead of closed. The chime sounds when we close the doors rather than open them. In other words something is reversed. Any help would be appreciated.

What is the make and model of the system?
My guess is that you somehow got your door contacts reinstalled opposite of their normal connection.
Normally the contact is closed when the door is closed, and vice-versa, but a few, obscure system models and configurations use normally open contacts.

They reinstalled the same contacts that were previously on the old door. The system is a Caddx NX-6. Thanks.

I called the contractor who installed the doors and he told me that he broke off a resistor that was installed at the contact connection. It appears that may be the problem. I will replace and post my results. Thanks again.

Yes, the resistor is needful. I suspect that it being missing was your issue.
