I am getting ready to install some cabinets in a carpeted home office area. No problem with the concept of installing the cabinets themselves, but I am wondering if there are any problems with installing desk height base cabinets on carpet.

Could you anchor them into the wall? If so, I don't see any real problems.

Id just remove the carpet from under them. A sharp knife will cut it.

i would anchor if you can..if you ever remove the cabnets your going to have to deal with the carpet being repaired were they were...if its around move out or selling time that will/may be an added expensive...you can always use furring strips and anchor them into a stud them put your cabnets into the strips to provide some support
