What would cause bubbles to enter the tank when toilet is flushed causing the flapper to stay open for a longer peroid of time. Appear to be air bubbles coming from opening where flapper seats? Thanks

What comes to mind is a drainage issue such as a partial blockage causing push back or maybe clogged openings in the bowl causing the same.Check the openings in the bowl and make sure they are all open and free flowing. After that maybe run a snake through the toilet and also make sure the vent for that drain isn't partially clogged.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried all with the exception of a partial blockage in the drain.
