In my bathroom I have a Moen style single handle faucet in the tub. Over the last 3-4 months it has broken twice, with one of the o-rings in the assembly jamming the valve open and then tearing. Is there another part that I should replace along with this, or should grease be applied to the o-rings or something? I feel like there is something that I must be doing wrong.

Is the faucet Moen style or is it actually Moen brand? If it is actually a Moen brand simply call their customer service line at 1-800-289-6636 an tell them the problem. They have one of the best guarantees in the industry and may well either provide parts free of charge or give you a new faucet.
Good Luck with it

No, it is just a Moen type, I don't actually know what the brand is. The replacement cartridges I've been getting from ACE Hardware, it's the only place I've been able to find them near me.

IIRC the Moen carts come with some grease on them. If yours are coming dry, I would def put some plumbers grease on the rings and in the valve body. Not too much, it shouldn't need much.

Also make sure the inside of the valve body isn't rough and corroded.

I don't think there really are any other parts to replace except the handle.
