Hey all,
What's the general opinion on the price and quality on the different systems like elfa, Closetmaid, Easy closets, California closets etc? I just got a quote for the elfa system(at Container Store) for $800 for 2 40*28 reach-in closets. Does that sound reasonable? Is there a cheaper DIY alternative?
Thanks.

Those are small closets so certainly you can do it yourself. Head to home depot or where-ever and buy packages off the shelf. You won't get quality or flexibility but sometimes thats not required.
I have a closet company and I charge a min of $500/closet unless there are several closets.
The big issue for you is you can spend hours figuring out how to organize, the measurements etc. Then spend hours doing and install with several trips to the hardware store. Thats why people call closet dealers (or carpenters, or electricians or plumbers etc). But if you don't mind spending the time to save some money then go for it. YOu will have a few sacrifices but thats a decision.
Many people do. Just depends on how good a system you want and how much time you are willing to put into it.

Thanks mjd2k.
I'll check out Home Depot/Lowes and see what my options are. I don't mind spending a little more to get good quality, so I want to weigh my options carefully.
