I have Napolean direct vent gas fireplace problem. The ports that creat the "natural looking" flames around the bottom of the gas logs are plugged with artificial embers. What can be used to clean out the ports without damaging the burner assy?

Some models are designed to have embers over those ports. Without a model number we would just be guessing if the embers are suppose to be there or not.
