Hello,
I was hoping to get some suggestions. I have three windows in my bedroom side by side with narrow wall space separating them. I wanted to use a sconce or some fixture that would allow me to just hang fabric straight down - I really don't want to cover the tops with the standard rod , valance, etc. I just want to decorate around the windows not cover them (the view is pretty). I like sconces but the fabric doesn't hang straight down properly and I have yet to find something like this that would allow me to achieve this more custom look. Does anyone have any suggestions or know where I can find a fixture or something that would allow me to achieve the look I am going for.
Thanks for any help.

Hi mheather66 and Welcome to the Forums!
I am not sure if I understand your question...
You wrote: "I like sconces but the fabric doesn't hang straight " + "Does anyone have any suggestions or know where I can find a fixture.."--> do you mean a light fixture?
Can you provide a picture of the windows?

HI and thanks for the welcome.
I am not sure how to attach a photo but there are 3 windows in a row - side by side with about 8" wall space inbetween each window. Each window is approx 72" height x 36" width.
I am not looking for a light sconce but for a drapery sconce or fixture that will allow the fabric to hang straight down - only covering the wall space leaving the window viewable.
The only sconces I have seen in stores have a hole in the side and when you try to put the fabric through it to hang straight down - like it is coming out the bottom rather than the side - it just does not look right. O hope this is a clearer image - thanks for your help :)

I see what you mean.
I'd suggest a tappered balance... but I'll move this post to the Draperies Forum, probably they will provide more ideas

What you're looking for are drapery medallions. You could also use cabinet or drawer hardware or even doorknobs. It's also possible to use rod finials and holdbacks. Your panels (curtains) will need ties or loops at the top to hang them on the medallions tho.
You'll want to cover the molding on each side of the window. It'll look strange just hanging on the wall next to the window.

Hello
Once again thank you for your suggestions they are very helpful and appreciated :) I posted my question on one other forum as well as here. I just got a response that looks really promising, it is called V-Sconce. These sconces look like they will definitely solve my dilemma. Has anyone used them before? If so, can you tell me how well they worked for you?
Thank You

It looks to be a new product and I don't know who here would have used it to give any input, and I also hope you're not here to advertise it
I'll give you my input. They're pricey and don't look anywhere near as nice as panels hanging from medallions. They may be fine for scarfs but not for panels, as the top part narrows too much and something about it looks very off to me. :thumbdn:
I don't know of any custom workroom that would use these because the molding should not be showing at the top of the windows like the v sconce makes happen.
But if you like them, then go for it. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. :D

Hello, No, I certainly wasn't advertising these - I just learned of them myself. I do like Medallions, I have used them. I was just wanting something different is all. Anyway, thank you for all your help. I do appreciate it.

You could top the windows with a window cornice treatment. That way your coordinating your room colors and adding decorative style without covering your window space. There are cornice kits avaialable to do the cornices yourself.
