This is concerning setup function "26".

There are 2 modes.

Economy vs. Comfort Mode.

I was reading a post by badtlc where he suggested using the economy mode over the comfort mode.

My concern is whether or not this could ultimately prove more expensive if AUX ended up coming on for an extended period of time if it found out that the heat pump could not warm things up on it's own?

I am wondering if this is like the smart response used in the RTH7500 series

Not criticizing in any way, I would just like to learn/discuss this.

Thanks

From the looks of it, the economy mode's purpose is to avoid using the aux. strips as much as the comfort mode. The t-stat would cycle AuX on and off more to maintain a tighter temperature tolerance in comfort mode.

I'm not familiar with the exact execution of either the economy mode or the "smart response."

Thank you for your thoughts!

I wish that I knew what the exact execution was for the economy mode. I am more familiar with the smart response.
