I have a GE Gas dryer model DBL333GB2WW. When I turn it on the igniter glows nice and lights the flame. About 30 seconds later the flame goes out and I let it run and the igniter does not try to glow again. I tried this with exhaust disconected also. Its pretty clean the dryer. :wall:

If you let it cool down for a while will it relight? When the ignitor does not try to glow again, do you have voltage to the ignitor? You'll need to find the tech sheet and trace the circuit with a voltmeter. Offhand, it sounds like the radiant sensor may be weak or one the limit or operating thermostats may be weak. If possible, see if you can scan and post the wiring diagram. GE diagrams are hard to find online. You can find some troublshooting help here. let us know what you find or if you have any questions. Thanks.

If I shut the dryer off and try it again in a few minutes it will light again. I am not a tech at all just trying to determine if there is a part I can buy and have a friend who knows what they are doing install it. Is it possible the igniter is defective?

I did not let the dryer run for 5 minutes after the flame goes out. Only about 1 minute and the igniter did not try to relight.

One of the gas coils is opening after it heats up. Replace both coils.

Hello iggifaz and Welcome into the Gas Appliances topic.

Based upon the problem description which is a common symptom, when one of the solenoid (coil) fails or becomes defective.

Replace both solenoids, which are located on top of the gas control valve. An easy and inexpensive do it yourself repair. No testing is required to accomplish this type repair.

The solenoid coils are mounted directly on top of the gas valve. Each has a wire harness assembly with a plastic quick disconnect attached. The coils (solenoids) must be removed and replaced.

Well the dryer works again. Thanks to all. The weird part was I put the new part in and it did still go out until I put the machine back together. I did have the door off so I could see the flame. This model did not have a front window it only had a small hole to look through which I dit not notice till after I fixed it. The only other thing I did was clean out the vents and machine. Part was only $20 and super easy to put in. Thanks
