Can I run the True Steam off the same circuit that the Furnace uses? I have a TRANE XV80 I was told the way the fan works it does not draw that much current. I have a 4 level Town House that's 1,320 Sq Ft of living area. I also have a Model 8085C that has a built in HUM control I would like to use.
Need advice on this setup.
Thanks Pete

Are you talking about using the 120v HUM wire off of that for the TrueSTEAM? If so, no you can not use it.. it has to be plugged into a regular out let.

No. I was wondering if I can use the same AC line that powers the furnace to power the True Steam. The furnace has a dedicated AC line.
I understand that the HUM is just a contact point and not a source of power for the unit.

It depends on how big the humidifier is, what size wire is used between the panel, and outlet, also breaker big enough?

I'm looking at a TrueSTEAM HM506 - True 6 Gallons on a 20 amp circuit that the only item in that circuit currently is the Furnace. I dont have the manual on the TRANE XV80 so I don't know how much it draws.

Ok, The TrueSTEAM is going ot use about 7 amps.
XV80 is about 11 to 13 amps. (Depends on model)
If the two are together, we are pushing the 20 amp breaker to the max.
