We currently have a kitchen with many recessed can lights. They were installed when the home was built 20 years ago. They are all on the same circut and when they are turned on you can really feel the heat generating. We like these pot lights but want give them a modern look and add some effficency. I have no way to access these recessed units fom above.
Is there a conversion kit to change the inner pot and outer face ring or possibly a LED style without removing the ceiling drywall to replace the whole unit?

Welcome to the forums! Without access you probably won't be able to easily remove the units. The rings are removable and replaceable, but you will have to match the design and attachment method as they are pretty brand specific. Have you considered using an electronic dimmer for the lights? "Many" didn't tell us much, so we don't know your wattage usage (need).

Thanks Chandler for your reply. I have placed dimmer for the switch but since had to remove it to place the low wattage flourescent bulbs. As the dimmer switch will not work with these type of bulbs.
Question:
I have not removed the ring but would ask if there would be a brand name listed on this to try and match up the design as you noted?

Once you take down the ring you should see a label inside the housing with a brand and compatible trim rings.

If no name, take one with you to the electrical supply house and they can match it up in a color or finish you like.
