Hello,
I installed a wood hot air furnace with hopes of attaching ductwork from both the heated air and cold air return plenums to our existing oil fired hot air heat system of ducts. Right now the wood furnace is a stand-alone, and warms the house via simple convection with no ductwork connected.
Before connecting the intermingled ducts, I'm looking for a dealer/supplier for back draft dampers. I need to install one in the heated air and cold air return plenums or ductwork of both the oil furnace and wood furnace.
I've searched both locally at the DIY'er stores and a few heating & plumbing supply stores with no results. The company that I got some of the return air parts from does have single door dampers that are designed to fit inside of ducts; more models for round duct and one for rectangular, but they don't appear to be adjustable by air direction or source air. All models are hinged in the middle and of single door styles.
I am looking for a rectangular multiple-door type damper, that can be installed so that when either furnace is working, the movement of air is directed to the furnace providing the heat.
I live in New England, specifically the Rochester, NH area. I've searched faIr and wide and have not located any distributors of this sort of product. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks in advance!

I think what you really want is motorized dampers. You would also need to install a control to run these dampers. That way when your fire is burning the dampers will be open. Just a temp sensor would be need in the duct. When the fire goes out the dampers will close and the ones for the oil furnace will open. I found a few on Grainger.com here: HVACR > Ventilation > Motorized Dampers : Grainger Industrial Supply (http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/categories/hvacr/ventilation/motorized-dampers)
There is also a location at 370 E. Industrial Dr.
Manchester, NH if you want to check them in person. I did see they also have backdraft dampers like you mentioned but they are for roofs. HVACR > Ventilation > Backdraft Roof Dampers : Grainger Industrial Supply (http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/categories/hvacr/ventilation/backdraft-roof-dampers)

I would bet that you would have a better success finding motorized dampers for your application.
