Hi everyone,
I've just installed a he220 humidifier and I'm not sure whether it is working properly or not. I am setting the humidistat to 30% accordingly to the outdoor temperature as recommended (over here around -10 ~ -15C). However, if I set it to any point below 35%, it shuts off and the humidity in the house drops to below 20%. It seems not be opening the solenoid valve regardless the humidity level.
On the other hand, if I crank it up back to around 37% I hear the click in the humidistat and the water starts flowing again (and the humidity then goes up to 35ish as expected). But, as expected, that is a tad high for the outside temp and, sure enough, condensation builds up on the windows.
Am I doing something wrong here? Thanks.

The humidistat has about 5% swing.
So if you set it at 30%, it should come on about 25% and off at 30%.
Sounds like you may have a bad humidstat if that big of a swing.

Thanks for your response.
Well, it seems that with my humidistat is either 35 or 15%!
I have two hygrometres (in the kitchen and in the bedroom), both show low humidity so I guess the humidistat is really not working OK. I think it's time to call customer service...
