Iam getting ready to install the wellmade bamboo floor over a concrete subfloor.trying to decide whether to float or glue directly to subfloor. personally i like the idea of first putting down a 6 mil polyethlene moisture barrior and then a 1/8 inchfoam padding and then using a pva glue in the joints only and letting it float. The floor is in Las Vegas and dont anticipate any moisture problems.Would welcome any advice on this and whether gluing directly to floor would be better, and if gluing to floor, some advice on how to prep and what to use for a water barrior.

Sounds like you feel more comfortable with the floating installation method so go that route. I would use a 2 in 1 moisture barrier that includes both the poly vapor barrier and the acoustic layer in one. Buy a good one, you don't want to hate the sound of your floor after you install it.

If you decide to go gluedown: In Vegas it is a good idea to have a moisture test done on the concrete before you glue down any flooring. prep is the same for both; you want flat.

We do not recommend the floating installation method for solid bamboo flooring. Direct glue is the preferable method. If you find that there are minor moisture issues with the concrete, many adhesive manufacturers offer moisture protection products that are compatable with their adhesives. One important point: Clean up any adhesive on the finish [B]before it dries[B] with mineral spirits, and then buff off any residue with a soft dry cloth.
