I recently installed an Aprilaire 600A humidifier with this forum's help (thanks!!!). It works perfectly - with one small exception. Every 3 or 4 days, the control displays an E3 error code. This code indicates an outdoor temperature sensor issue. However, if I reset the control, the E3 code clears and the unit works again for another few days until the error code eventually comes back. The fact that it consistently resets and works again for a few days suggests to me that the circuit is ok. But I cannot understand why it keeps returning an error. Is this common? Is this indicative of a bad sensor? Any comments or advice?

Have you tried doing the manual mode, and see if the code comes up?

It could be a bad sensor.
