I have a Hitachi 53fdx01b Projection tv. The yellow and red or fine. But I can't get the blue to move vertically at all. It is about a inch off. It will not move with the tv controls. Is there a motor that is locked up? Can I move this by hand.

I would first check and make sure the light guns have good glycol in them. They are basically the lamps filled with antifreeze.

You normally can remove a cap and drain and refill them without taking them out.

I would do that, and if that doesn't fix it completely, you may need to replace your convergence IC's, which are located bottom right of the set looking from the back. They are attached to large heatsinks. Part # (STK392-120)

So will the top ring get me to the glycol or will I have to remove the blue gun?

You should not have to remove the gun right now. You should be able to shine a flashlight in the gun and check the fluid out.

The fluid looks just like the other two so I guess it is good. After you said that it is most likely the convergence IC's I did a search and it looks like that is a big problem with them going bad. If there was a copper pipe on the end I would solder it in a heart beat but have not done much on printed circuit boards. So I will remove it and take to a service center. Thanks for your help.
