i have two wooden bar stools that were wobbly and not spinning well. Disassembling the seat and tightening the wood screws took care of the wobble. The swivel mechanism is made by Trendler:

and is completely enclosed so there is no access to the ball bearings. There is grease visibly in the thin gap between the plates, but it takes a lot of muscle to get it to rotate at all. I don't know if this model was designed to spin freely or if it is supposed to be tight. The stamp on the center bolt is 10-06 horizontally with T G vertically.
Any ideas on freeing it up to spin more easily, or is replacement the best route?
