I would like to install some type of ceiling hanging system in my 10 x 16 utility shed to store some scrap lumber, PVC piping, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions? Are there any kits available for this application?

Assuming the rafters run the 10' direction, you can put 2x6 supports (called ceiling joist or collar ties) at every other rafter for the length of the area you wish to use for storage. If storing real heavy items I would use 2x8 and go every rafter. Depending upon the design of your shed the supports would either sit on the walls and be nailed to each rafter (if you have 7' or higher walls) or just be glued and nailed to the side of the rafter at the height you need them.
