Hi there
This is my 1st time on this forum, & i was hoping for some advice please.
Im currently planning to decorate my bedroom, & would like an 'accent' wall. Would somebody please be able to tell me where the accent wall should be located? Is it usually behind the bed?
Help much appreciated.
Thank you :o

My wife painted the wall behind the headboard a dark blue. Its directly opposite the window and bath door. Didn't know how it would work, but with the wood furniture it looks great. Thats the thing about paint, you can re-do it if ya don't like it.

Typically, the head of the bed is located on a solid wall. This wall is usually the wall that first greets the eye. Floor plans do, however, vary. If a solid wall at the headboard, this is the one that is painted the accent color. It should be one of the bold colors in your color scheme.
In bedrooms, the bedding is the inspiration color palette from which one typically selects a color scheme. One of the more neutral colors can be selected for the walls and a bolder complementary color selected for the accent wall. A large horizontal picture hung low above the headboard should have complementary colors and add a splash of color to the room. A decorative pillow or two added to the bed in the accent wall color can further accent the bed, which is the focal point of the room, and bring the accent wall color down to the bed.

Thank you lots for both your help.
I had a feeling it would be situated behind the headboard, but just wanted to check before we started to decorate as i started to doubt myself.
Thank you again for your help.

Hi Judrop, and welcome to the Forum
The accents type and location depend a lot of the intended style / layout and the windows location
Sometimes, the light can be an ally and other times.... your enemy ;) --> paint colors tend to change with the sunlight
In addition, if you have a heavy furniture or a headboard with a bookcase, for example, try to avoid the addition of accents in this wall
