I have a power vent2 50 Gal water heater by Rheem products.
Problem seems to be with blower fan turning on when thermostat calls for heat.

When the Thermostat calls for heat, Fan makes an "Iam not able to start" noise and thermostat stops. If I turn the switch off and turn it on, then the thermostat calls for turning the fan on but the fan doesn't want to run --

I repeat this about 4 - 5 times and then finally the fan starts and then makes squeaky noise while its running. Once it picks up speed, the burner ignites..

Can anyone help me please ?

Is this a Powervent 1, 2, or 3?

Regardless, sounds like the bearing is going bad in the blower. If the heater is within warranty, Rheem will send you a new one.

Rheem is out of stock on PV2 blowers right now though, fwiw.
