I have a gas log kit with a Peterson APK-16M valve. This is an electronic millivolt valve that I use with a Peterson PC-106 Pine Cone Remote. The remote (and the switch directly on the APK-16M) stop working if not used for a while. Very often, a new battery will get things going, even though the old battery is far from dead. Usually, once I get the switch to turn on, it will work fine until it has been off for a while.

Last year I replaced the remote, but the valve still fails.

Any thoughts? Is it possible to repair this valve without replacing the entire valve?
