This is a follow-up to a thread I started recently about trying to to split the signal from my cable STB to 2 TVs. Here's the link (http://forum.doityourself.com/entertainment-center-tvs-stereos-vcrs-dvds/376158-using-passive-hdmi-splitter.html?=#post1507371) in case you want the background.
I'm at a point where I need to run some component video cable behind baseboard molding in my basement. Then, I will have each end run up to a low volt box. I have some 2 12' lengths of component cables that the cable company gave me. I was going to connect them with a coupler (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10401&cs_id=1040107&p_id=3002&seq=1&format=2)like this one. But I don't think these cables are rated for in-wall use.
Should I not use this type of cable when it is in any way oncealed? I will spring for the CL2 like this one (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10235&cs_id=1023501&p_id=4667&seq=1&format=2#description) if I have to. Just thought it would be good to save some $ when I can.
Thanks,
Guy

Well, the proper answer for me to say would be, yes, you should have wall rated cables, but I don't.
