I have an York Mercury thermostat that I want to replace with a Hunter Programmable Thermostat. The York is a Q674L the Hunter is Model 44860. The question is the wiring. On the York the terminal and wire colors are:
W-White
B-Black
G-Green
R-Red
X-Blue
O-Orange
Y-Yellow.

Not sure what to do with the blue wire connected to the X terminal.

X is a common terminal for the 24 volt power. I think your stat is battery powered or system powered. So if it has a C terminal it goes there. If it don't then leave it off.
