I have an Arrow dead bolt on my front door that was present when I bought my house. The key section of the deadbolt has progressively gotten looser and looser. The interior cover plate which I can spin without it loosening has two holes that at one point line up with two depessed/same size circles on a plate behind this cover. Do I need a special tool to access the screws behind this plate to tighten up the key housing? How do I uncover the screws to bring the outside plate and inside plate tight?:(

How old is your house?

I assume this is a double cylinder deadbolt-uses a key on both sides?

Older styles require a working key turned 45 degrees to the right which will allow the shutter to rotate and show the screws.

thanks for the answer to my question. i'm up and running. it's those simple answers that are the hardest to figure out. our house is pre victorian circa 1840. its was abandoned when we bought it 8 years ago.
