PC 5508 keypad problem:
I have DSC 832 system with 2 PC5508 keypads. I never used the system and I even powered it down. Last week I plugged it back in and it had trouble light on. After pressing *2 it showed trouble condition 1 and 8. So I programmed the date and time after reading one of the message and changed the battery as it was at least 5 years old. Now *2 shows -only one trouble condition with zone light 1 on and after pressing 1 again it shows zone 5 which I think is associated with general system supervisory.
One of the keypad beeps every second with a long beep. It does not has illuminated keys. I took it down and connected with the system directly to rule out a damaged wire but beep continues.
Is it a bad keypad?
Can system work on one keypad?
what are the compatible keypads? Can I mix LED with a LCD?
Thanks in advance.

If you did a direct connect to the panel terminals and the keypad didn't come up, then it's probably bad.

The system will work just fine with one keypad. You need to disconnect the bad one and key in * 8 [installer code] + 902.

This will force the system to re run the device supervision and delete the missing keypad.

Any of the DSC 55xx series keypads will work just fine.

Okay, I bought a new keypad I could not find a PC5508 but found a PC5532. It has place for 5 wire though but I connected 4 as I had in the PC5508 and it seems to be working. I need to reprogram it. Here is what I have done so far.
I wanted to redo it all so I defaulted the main panel.
Step1- Remove AC and battery from the panel.
Step2- Remove all wire from Pgm1 and Z1.
Step3- Connect Pgm1 and Z1.
Step4- Apply AC power.
Step5- When Z1 light is on keypad default is complete
Problem: (all 8 zone light were on)
I wanted to try so I reconnected all original wiring and power up the control.

I programed the time and date- *6 -Master Code-1-HR:00-MMDDYY##

Then *8-IC-Arm Light-001-Ready Light- 0104030303000000##

Now I have all 5 zone lights on PC5532 keypad and nothing on PC5508.
What is it I am missing?
Thanks In advance,

You need to set the two keypads to different addresses.
