Residential & Commercial Security - Locks, Keys & Dead Bolts - Securing Grandfather Clock from tipping

Please excuse if I've posted this in the wrong forum.

I'm trying to find out information on hardware that secures a grandfather clock (the tall kind that stands on the floor) from tipping over -- safety proofing for children. I've read a couple of news stories in the past about children being killed in such an accident.

I remember clearly a news story where it said there was something very simple a homeowner could install to keep a tall clock like a grandfather clocking from knocking over. Does anyone know what that piece of hardware is called? I can't find the name googling online.

If concerned about tipping over of grandfather clock, secure to wall studs. This is usually recommended for the very tall case clocks. Clocks are screwed to the wall. Clock is situated against quarter round or baseboard, so you will need a block of wood to compensate for the offset from the wall. You can screw the block to the wall and then screw the clock to the block. You may want to opt for two blocks depending on height of clock and if on slick floor.

I put a screw in the wall and then used wire from it to the back of clock on mine.
