I have concrete steps, walkway and drive that need to be resurfaced, or at least I want them to look better. We may have the drive totally redone, but I would like to somehow cover the walkway and steps.
My question is: Am I being too ambious as a beginner? I want to resurface with colored concrete and stamping. Is this a job I may be able to do? Will my home center have what I need?
Any advice is much appreciated:)

You can do it, sure. Just be aware that when working with concrete you get one chance to do it right, or you tear it out and start over. For colored and stamped overlay, you might want to practice on a small project that is not on the front of your house first.

Decorative concrete tools and materials are specialty items. I've never seen a home center that sells or rents concrete stamps and supplies. For that, you'd probably need to go to a contractor's supply, and many deal only with professional contractors. You may find one that sells to homeowners.
There are always exceptions, but having been in the decorative concrete industry for a long time, I'd say that what you want to do is out of the typical person's capabilities. Good luck though.
