I had a dsc pc5010 today the installer came to hook it up for monitoring they changed the main board to a pc1616 and installed the tl-150. we cant figure our why we cant communicate with the central station it is just staying offline. i can ping their ip but the system just wont talk between them. the guys were going to go and try to set up another system and try it in case this one is bad but he had it working last night in their shop. any ideas on a possible setting that is wrong they have been at it for 20 yrs so i figure he knows what he is doing but i just want to check myself to see what i can do to fix. i installed this originally myself and set it all up with a phone dialer so i can do it if could get some ideas.

Your question is a little vague, so I'll guess that you are trying to communicate via standard dial up to a central station.

Every action that supposed to activate the dialer has to have a report code programmed in to activate it. DSC panels do not default to these codes being on.

no i am using the tl-150 witch plugs into the network not a dial in type.

There still has to be a report code to enable the alarm report. The system doesn't care how the alarm is transmitted.

Otherwise, you may need to open a outgoing port in your router firewall.

i looked through that stuff and am not really sure what he put into it but he said he had all that in there but still nothing i wonder if it is just the unit. i will have to look further into tonight and play with the programming a bit and see what i can come up with. the main problem is that the setup guide you get from dsc is for the tl-250 and not the tl-150 so some things may be different on the setup.

have looked further into this and am wondering one thing in section 301 where you put in the number it say to put in DCAA i know how to input hex but obviously i only need to use 4 letters for this so how can i tell it that this is the end of the number i dont see it in the manual.

When connecting a TL-150, there is absolutely no programming required in the alarm control unit.
It gathers all information from the keybus and not any communications section.

Any issue will be with port configuration within your router.
Make sure the port number in the TL-150 matches the required port for the monitoring company, (3061 is the default) and that this same port is open on your router.:o;)
