hello today i tryed to turn on my bell 6100 hd reciever and no power i opened it up and checked the glass fuse and its good and there is power to it is there anything else i can check? i dont want to call bell because they just would want me to upgrade to the new 9250 hd thanks

The device may have to be reset. Look in the manual to see if there's a section on resetting, initializing, or restoring to factory defaults.
If not, try this: Unplug it from the phone line. Unplug it from the AC power. Disconnect the satellite cable. Don't disconnect it from the TV.
Let it sit like that overnight. In the morning, plug it in to AC power. Don't re-connect anything else. Turn it on and see if it powers up or shows a menu on the TV. If so, turn it off and connect the satellite cable. Turn it back on and let it find the satellites.
If that doesn't work, call Bell's technical support. They may be able to talk you through the fix.
However, it's only a matter of time before you will have to upgrade. Your MPEG2 receiver does not receive MPEG4, and Bell is switching the entire system to MPEG4.
