Greetings. I bought a 40year old house that has an Ademco 4110xmp system in place with wirless sensors (3 door and 2) motion). For an old system it has serve us well for the past 5 years. However, lately, if the alarmed is triggered, simply typing the code and then "off" will NOT turn of the alarm and we have to wait until the system resets itself. Very uncool for our neighbours at 530am..
Im am a newb when it comes to alarm so any suggestions and/or thoughts will be appreciated.
Thank you
Z

If it's arming normally, then either your keypad is getting a little long in the tooth and not taking all of the digits for your code, especially when you are keying in a hurry, or the system itself is having it's meeting with entropic destiny.
If you have been using the quick arm feature to arm, you may not have been noticing if all of the keys are reacting normally.

Thanks for the quick reply!!
You are correct sir and I did replace one of the keypads. But still, it wont shut off. We have two keypads, one old (original and the other new(er) ). And we do not quick arm. The key pad works well when we return home ("away" mode) but if we put it instant (for the night) and then someone opens the door (usually me..) then the alarm is triggered but it wont shut down.
Anything within the control box should I be looking at?
Thanks again

No, there's really nothing to look for in the box. If the system alarms, once you enter the code +1(off) the siren should shut up. Since this is a new behavior, I suspect that this is the first sign of the system breaking down.
