when i engage the auger lever, the blower stalls out. i don't know if something is jammed behind the impeller. do i have to disassemble auger and impeller shafts to find the problem, and is it a major job? thanks in advance

Start with fuel, the mixture probably isn't set right and causing it to stall, may need carb clean and/or kit. You could try richening the mixture, give the bottom screw (if equipped) as 1/4 screw out.

Snow could have frozen in there. Before taking it apart, try this.
BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE, assuming it's a 2stage, then take a broom handle or something like that and stick it down through the chute and push against the vanes of the blower to see if they turn freely. This happened to me last week, and 1 push was all it took to break the ics loose.
